Juliann's Mommy Blog
I have had to take a brief 'break' from my blogging as of late. I have hardly had the time to breathe, let alone do many product reviews lately (although I am itching to get back to that, because I hate to let anything slide.)
Life has been very busy as I am getting ready for my oldest son's graduation, as well as keeping my pre-schooler happy and occupied every day. With my soon to be graduate, it means planning the details of his graduation party and trying to get everything in to place. Tickets for his graduation? Mental note: Must call the high school tomorrow and ask about that. His graduation announcements? OH CRAP! I never ordered any, so I must hustle my bustle to get myself to the local printer in our small town and MAKE MY OWN, dang it. That means selecting a few good pictures of my son and figuring out a nice layout and some wording. BUT, then again, we have NO relatives to send them too, anyways, so........why am I doing this? My son doesn't seem to care much about it anyway, but it is so that he can be acknowleged for this major milestone in his life, and I love my boy, so I will do my best.
And then, since we are going on our second MUCH NEEDED week of sunshine, I am almost doing backflips to keep my five-year-old doing OUTDOORS activities, like visiting every park in a 20 mile vincinity. I know I don't HAVE to do this, but there is nothing that makes me happier than to see my little boy play, climb, dig in the sand and interact with other kids. We have had serious CABIN FEVER when it RAINED ALL of April, and I am trying to milk this SUNSHINE for all it is worth.
Another thing I need to focus on is my second oldest daughter is graduating from 8th grade, and I MUST make certain everything is special for her, too. That means we need to find her a pretty dress ASAP!
AND, my husband has been out of town for work, so I AM ON MY OWN doing all of this planning and thinking and I am NOT GREAT at this stuff, so I am OVERWHELMED sometimes with things that others Moms probably find EASY. I know my older sister is practically Martha Stewart, so I compare myself to her quite a lot, and I WISH I wouldn't, but I do!
Alright, I must stop rambling, here. Please wish me luck with everything!
My soon to be gratuate, and my almost Kindergartener
How was your Mother's Day? I hope it was wonderful for all you Moms out there. I was at my Mother-in-Law's house on Mother's Day, and the computer there would not allow me to log in to write up a greeting. Go figure.
Let me tell you a little bit about MY mother. She is my beautiful forever Mommy who raised seven of us children and continues to be my very best friend. I am so very blessed to have such a wonderful mother. I am so very fortunate to have her. We have such a close relationship, and I tell her things that I would tell NOBODY else. In fact, I think I just about blow her away with some of the crazy things I share with her sometimes.
My mother worked very hard doing daycare when I was growing up to provide all of us children with vacations to Hawaii, Disneyland and beachtrips that we never could have otherwise had.
The most important lessons that my sweet mom has taught me are generousity, faith and endurance. She continues to teach me each day by her example. Who knew that I would still very much need my Mommy at the 'wise' old age I am now?
I could go on forever about how precious and wonderful my mother is. I am just so thankful to have this beautiful soul in my life.
Happy Mother's Day!

Youthful skin begins with sunscreen. To prevent those dreaded wrinkles and lines you must protect your skin from those awful (although life sustaining) sun rays.

If you are like me, you cannot just use ANY sunscreen on your face. My face tends to get very oily with most sunscreens, I prefer a product that multi-tasks as a moisturizer, as well as an anti-aging cream. I prefer something very light (with no white residue) that I can wear under my daily foundation, but powerful enough to protect my delicate facial, neck and chest skin.
I have had the priveledge of putting two of this years top reccommended full-spectrum sunscreens to the test, and I am very impressed with the results.
And here are the winners:
1.) EmerginC SPF30

This product is lightweight and easy to apply. It also has zinc oxide which provides great protection for your skin, but it does not leave a white residue. It completely absorbs into the skin.
Taken from their website:

This fast absorbing, non-greasy lotion formula protects skin against the sun’s harmful UVA and UVB rays to counter photo-aging and cellular damage.

I have tried each one of these sunscreens, as well as given samples to my nieces who work with their father in Eastern Oregon on a cattle ranch. The report has come back from my neices, ages 20 and 18 that they have never used a better facial sunscreen than the emerginC sun 30+ or the DNA Defense SPF 30+ no sticky residue, no sunburned faces and no zits! (Which are usually a problem with other sunscreens these girls use.) For me, the sunscreens equally protect my skin, they never clog my pores and they never make my face shine. I love them!

Made with the highest quality ingredients, ELLIS FAAS Human Colours inspire exploration: No matter what complexion, age or style, with ELLIS FAAS a woman can customise her own look with subtle effects or dramatic flair with colours that are sure to complement and flatter.

Human Colours® is all about going back to nature without having to appear natural. This is because the colours can be used to achieve a subdued natural look in an extravagant theatrical way – and any style in between. In the near future, ELLIS FAAS will also provide you with shimmery powders, holographic and metal shimmers, plus various glosses to give your look a more festive appearance.
Textures
All products are fluids, not only so they all fit in same sized “bullets”, but also because an enormous part of the human body consists of water. Therefore liquid makeup tends to blend into the skin more easily than solid makeup: the products will melt into the skin instead of lie on it.

ELLIS LIPS products are lightweight, long-lasting and easy to apply. Paraben-free and loaded with Vitamin E, they also blend into the lips without leaving a sticky residue, leaving the lips soft and conditioned.
